Lewis William Thorn was a young boy raised in an 18th-century Moravian religious community who was remembered for his gentle nature, deep devotion to Jesus, and spiritual maturity beyond his years. After developing a severe and painful illness around 1751, he endured years of suffering with remarkable patience and faith. The biography describes how he continued encouraging other children through prayer, hymns, and conversations about the Savior even while seriously ill. Near the end of his life, he expressed a strong desire to be baptized, and the account concludes by portraying his death as peaceful and spiritually triumphant.
